A concurrent license sits on a designated network server and can be used by individual users who have access to that server (This is the typical case for a research facility or any company where more than one person is using Genstat). This will usually have a license count of concurrent devices that are allowed to use this license: for example, an 8-user concurrent license can be used by many users, but only 8 users may use the license at one time / concurrently.
A node-locked license is an encrypted ‘key’ that is locked to a specific computer. Typically you are provided with an activation code that may entitle you to one or many of these licenses.
Larger organisations may have very specific requirements and require a more bespoke solution. For some complex installations, we can offer enterprise ‘on-premises’ licensing. This allows organisations to host their own licensing server and avoid the requirement for internet access. Being a bespoke solution, this option is charged at a premium and is only available for larger organisations – contact us at support@vsni.co.uk for further details.
